learning to read wave reports

got up at 5:45 this morning because magic seaweed (surf report) was giving ocean beach a 4 star swell rating at 6am (thought this meant it would be good). So i took the camera and a cup of coffee to the beach thinking there'd be a ton of waves and dudes surfing. Turns out 4 stars ain't so great, there was no one in the water. Nice to blog at 7 am though. Here's some pics of my walk to the beach and back
